Virtual Reality Study v5 (Motions): ~ ON HOLD ~

This study will require a participant to walk around a small to medium sized room with one controller in each hand and a VR headset on. With the guidance of a trained project assistant, the participant will produce a series of arm and hand motions with the controllers. Participants must have full range mobility to walk short distances for a period of time and must have enough mobility in their arms and hands in order to lift them above their heads while engaging with the controllers.

The one where we get to play games! Come play virtual reality games like Beat Saber, Gorilla Tag, Climb, GORN, and many more! With the guidance of a trained project assistant, the participant will be able to play several games in different light settings and backgrounds! Participants must have full range mobility to stand for several periods of time.

  • When: Monday-Friday, 9am-3:30pm time slots available

  • Who: Anyone 18 years or older 

  • Duration: 1.5-2 hours (90 minutes-120 minutes)

Noisy Bar Study Pt. 1 (LIVE ON 06/19)

This research study focuses on simulating conversations in a controlled environment. We are looking for groups of 2-5 people. We strongly encourage signing up with friends or family. 
A nonclincal hearing test will be conducted prior to the start of the study. You must be comfortable with exposure to various environmental noise levels while sitting or standing for up to 60 minutes.

  • Who: Between the ages of 21 and 79 years old

Help us improve home smart assistants as well as voice AI! This study will involve groups of 2-3 people acting out 32 scenarios in front of a recording device. Our goal is to capture natural conversations and smart assistant interactions with diverse sets of people. 

Note: You must show up with at least a group of 2 to participate. You must be fluent in English. You must be between the ages of 18 and 64

Human Emotion and Appearance Study: ~ON HOLD FOR NOW!~

A tech company is looking for people ages 18 and older to help us learn more about human appearance and motion. The research study lasts approximately 8 hours. Must have a vehicle and be willing to travel to two locations.

Please be aware: No Tattoos / No Glasses / No Facial Piercings / No Fake or Polished Nails

The primary focus of this study is simply engaging with the technicians during various stages of the capture. You will be following simple commands like reading prompts and making facial expressions and gestures. The methods used in this study are all intrinsically safe and pose minimal to no risk to our study participants.

Remote Studies: 

Speech Evaluation

For native English speakers! In this study, participants will be presented with a speech sample containing the answer to a question, and two possible questions that could ahve prompted the answer. The participants job is to listen to the speech samples and select the right answer.

  • Duration: 15-20 minutes
